Outreach and Missions
2010 Missions Commitment Form
2010 Mission Trip to Cambodia - Feb 24 - Mar 8
2010 Mission Trip to India - Mar 14 - 24
To advance the Kingdom, we must reach out beyond ourselves. It begins with us becoming salt and light to the world around us and ultimately reaches to the ends of the earth. "...And you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8 NKJ
"JERUSALEM" -- OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
It is our desire that everyone who comes to Sojourn would take personal responsibility to pray for those they live around, becoming a “Lighthouse of Prayer” in their neighborhood, building relationships in a non-religious way, praying for the opportunity to release the love and power of God so we can ultimately have the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with them.
"JUDEA" -- THE DALLAS / FORT WORTH METROPOLITAN AREA
God has placed us in this area to join with other churches and ministries to touch our cities with His love. We work with various inner-city ministries with whom we have built relationships, to serve them and work together to see His Kingdom come here as it is in heaven. We also have joined with other churches to sponsor conferences, joint meetings and outreaches. We recognize that we are only a small part of what God is doing in this area, and we recognize how much we need each other. It is going to take the whole church to reach this metropolitan area for the Kingdom of God.
"SAMARIA" -- TEXAS & THE NATION
We have formed, along with Restoration Church and Dudley Hall and T. D. Hall, an apostolic network of churches and ministries called the Fellowship of Connected Churches and Ministries. The purpose of this fellowship is to help the participating churches and ministries become everything God has destined us to be. Through this fellowship we are reaching out to our state and nation.
THE ENDS OF THE EARTH
Starting in 1990 we began to go to the nations. God directed us to build relationships with people whom we believe to be apostles and who share a similar vision. Currently we are involved in Romania, Cambodia, Turkey and India with men and women who are having a major impact in their areas of the world. We have others from our body who have gone to the nations and are now working in Thailand, Mongolia and Spain, and we have hundreds of people from Sojourn who have visited many other nations on short-term trips. Most of our mission efforts focus on what is called the “10/40 Window,” the least evangelized area of the world today.
We pray, serve, go and send money to see the Kingdom of God advanced in the world. Each fall we raise money from our church body to support the work of those with whom we are in relationship around the world. We believe that we are to focus on a few and build deeply with them, instead of working with many whom we don’t know very well.
